Dr. Catherine Snowden
Pam Ohno

Catherine Snowden has a wealth of experience in college admissions, having served as Director of College Planning for Ponte Vedra High School for six years.  Under Catherine’s leadership, the college guidance department flourished and the school was successful in expanding the landscape of college placements.  She has assisted students gain admission to a great diversity of schools including Boston College, Bowdoin, Colby, Cornell, Dartmouth, Davidson, Duke, Emory, Georgetown, Harvard, MIT, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Pomona, Princeton, Rice, Stanford, University of Chicago, Tufts, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Washington University in St. Louis, Yale and many more.  Her students have been admitted in great numbers to the University of Florida, Florida State University and all of the public universities in Florida as well as the major state universities beyond Florida, including Auburn, Clemson, Georgia Institute of Technology, UC Berkeley, UCLA, University of Colorado, University of Georgia, University of Michigan, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of South Carolina, University of Texas at Austin, University of Virginia and many others. Catherine earned a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton in 1990, Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree in 1995 from Vanderbilt University’s School of Medicine, where she had a full academic merit scholarship.  Unfortunately, a bout with cancer interrupted Catherine’s medical career.  After successful treatment, she altered plans and served as a National Leader in Sales for Pharmacia and Upjohn.

Pam Ohno is responsible for research, general management, and essay review for College Planning Partners. Pam has helped hundreds of high school students find their voice, showcase their talents, and navigate the college application process. She has edited over a thousand personal statements and supplemental essays and has over a decade of experience working as a professional writer and editor. 

 

An experienced corporate executive and consultant, Pam also writes for Vertical IQ, a web portal that provides industry analysis to commercial banks. She has worked for First Research (acquired by Dun & Bradstreet), Fortune 500 brand leader General Mills, IBM, and Northrop Corp. Pam holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from Purdue University, with distinction, Phi Beta Kappa.  She participated in Purdue's cooperative education program, working for IBM in Research Triangle Park, NC. Pam also holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
